Open Position: Clerical (Part-Time)

We are hiring! SSE Engineers is seeking a Professional Clerical Candidate to join our support team.  If you are interested in helping us meet high-level Client goals by providing professional and concise documents & deliverables, we want to hear from you!  Simply submit your CV, Resume and Salary expectations via the link provided at the end of the position details.

Responsibilities:

  • Creation of Word documents & PDF’s
  • Coordinating and implementing administrative details in support of daily operations of the firm’s projects (to include compiling and maintaining project correspondence)
  • Additional duties may include general office support;  may include managing office supplies, maintaining office equipment, answering phones, organization and filing, use of excel spreadsheets, other administrative support for Project Managers and Principals as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues
  • Interest in working on a variety of project types
  • Ability to manage multiple projects successfully
  • Engaging and winsome client-service attitude
  • Organized and highly self-motivated
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word required, Excel experience is helpful
  • Experience in Adobe and Bluebeam ReVu helpful
  • Experience in project support preferred
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision a plus

Open Position: Project Assistant

We have an immediate need for a Full Time Project Assistant. Responsibilities will include basic bookkeeping, coordinating and implementing administrative details in support of daily operations of the firm’s projects (to include compiling and maintaining project correspondence), and additional duties may include general office support (such as managing office supplies, maintaining office equipment, answering phones, organization and filing, creation of Word documents, PDFs, and spreadsheets), and providing other administrative support for Project Managers and Principals as needed.

Open Position: Structural Engineer

SSE Structural Engineers is seeking a full-time structural engineer with 3-7 years of experience to join our team. We specialize in providing value structural engineering services to our clients. Founded in 1947, our company has gained broad experience in fast-track and design-build construction and is recognized for its expertise in post-tensioned concrete design and innovative solutions to special structures.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and/or Architectural Engineering
  • MS in Structural Engineering preferred
  • PE in at least one State or ability to obtain licensure within one year
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in structural design projects of all sizes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to model a structure in Revit
  • Detail oriented and adept at typical structural analysis
  • Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to work with a team or independently as needed
  • Interest in working on a variety of project types
  • Able and willing to make field site visits
  • Ability to manage multiple projects successfully
  • Flexible to new and different learning situations

Position Description

  • Production and coordination of construction documents, schematic designs, and design developments
  • New building design and structural investigations
  • Structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, and masonry systems
  • Act as primary engineering support on assigned projects or assist Project Manager as needed
  • Assist in collaborating on restoration of parking structures including post-tensioned and precast concrete structures

Clients will include large and small quality architectural firms, contractors, developers, and health care organizations. In addition to the skills listed above, the qualified candidate should possess a strong client-service attitude.
