Mercy opens $115 million hospital.
Mercy opened a $115 million orthopedic hospital in Springfield Thursday.
The four-story, 199,000-square-foot hospital features 10 operating rooms and 48 inpatient beds, according to the Springfield News-Leader.
Hospital officials said that, eventually, they’d like to see other developments around the hospital, such as hotels and restaurants, the newspaper reports.
Chesterfield-based Mercy is the sixth-largest Catholic health care system in the nation operating in four states and generating annual revenue of $4 billion. Mercy is led by President and CEO Lynn Britton.
